Coding Error

They said it was a coding error
just a glitch in digital democracy.
But isn’t it funny how
the computer always “malfunctions”
right when we need it most?
Sections nine and ten vanish
habeas corpus protections,
limits on congressional power,
the words that say “No”
to those who would be kings.
What precise accidents we have!
What surgical glitches!
Always targeting the clauses
that bind their hands.
The timing is impeccable
a masterclass in coincidence,
discovered only when Reddit users
started asking uncomfortable questions.
Because when the Constitution
starts disappearing
line by line,
even if it’s “just a coding error”
That’s exactly when
we need to debug this democracy
before the whole system crashes
and they tell us
that was an error too.
