Laura has been writing poetry for more than fifty years, with a particular focus on flash poetry—compact, vivid pieces that capture moments with precision and emotional resonance. As an instructor and educational content developer, she brings deep expertise across multiple poetic forms, from traditional sonnets and pantoums to contemporary free verse and spoken word. Her work explores themes ranging from personal grief and memory to mental health to political commentary and social justice, as well as humorous verse that showcases poetry’s playful possibilities.
Laura demonstrates through both her own writing and teaching that poetry’s power lies in its ability to distill complex human experiences—whether profound or delightful—into carefully chosen words.
Note:
This page is new, I am not. Ultimately there will be a great deal more different kinds of work out here. But right now Current Events are moving so fast that I am spending a disproportionate amount of time keeping up.
I’m best known for humorous flash poetry, there will be that, and probably many more categories. Bear with me.
